Emerging Technology Part 1

Facebook's Timeline
Facebook recently introduced its Timeline layout to the 850 million monthly people that use Facebook. This layout is used to make it easy to find much of the huge amount of information that the social network has found about each of its users and to prompt them to add and share even more in a way that's easy to analyze. Facebook's motivation is to target the advertisements that are responsible for 85% of its revenue. In which, successful targeting is a numbers game. If reported trends have held steady, Facebook's data warehouse was adding 625,000 terabytes of compressed data daily by last January. Timeline's new features are bound to enhance that number dramatically, potentially providing Facebook with more personal data than any other ad seller online can access.
Assumptions: I think that they are going to better Facebook into a better Social Media site than it already is. I feel like maybe they are going to make new layouts to make people try new things and see how they all workout.
What surprises me the most?: What surprises me the most is how much of the revenue is based on their advertisements.
Possibilities: Some possibilities are that the world of the Social Media site Facebook will have a huge increase of users as the younger generation are able to join Facebook and see all the different advertisements.
Other comments I have to offer: There are about 2.7 new "likes" and comments daily. There are also more the 100 billion friend connections as of December 31, 2011. About 126 MB is the volume of photo and video data per user.

2009The TR10: Liquid Battery is being used. This type of battery is being used because its a cheaper product to use.

I did not like presenting in front of the class. To me it was very nerve wrecking. It makes me nauseous.
I liked learning about Fiji because I have always wanted to go there. I don't think I would change my project in anyway, except adding a map of my country. It was okay but very scary.

Theodore Roosevelt was born October 27, 1858 known as Theodore Roosevelt Jr. Born into a wealthy family in New York City, Roosevelt was a sickly child who suffered from asthma and stayed at home studying natural history. To compensate for his physical weakness, he embraced a strenuous life. Home-schooled, he became an eager student of nature. He attended Harvard University, where he studied biology, boxed and developed an interest in naval affairs. In 1881, one year out of Harvard, he was elected to the New York State Assembly, where he became a leader of the reform faction of his Republican Party. His The Naval War of 1812 (1882) established his professional reputation as a serious historian; he wrote numerous books on hunting, the outdoors, and current political issues, as well as frontier history. In 1884, his wife and his mother died on the same day. He left politics and went to the frontier, becoming a rancher in the "Badlands" in the Dakotas. Returning to New York City, he ran for mayor in 1886, finishing third with 60,000 votes. He later gained fame by taking vigorous charge of the city police. At the national level, he was a leader in civil service reform. The Spanish–American War broke out in 1898 while Roosevelt was, effectively, running the Department of the Navy. He promptly resigned and formed the Rough Riders – a volunteer cavalry regiment that fought in Cuba. The war hero was elected governor in 1898 and in 1900 was nominated for vice president. He successfully energized the GOP base as a highly visible campaigner to reelect President William McKinley on a platform of high tariffs, the gold standard, imperialism, prosperity at home and victory abroad. In 1901, President William McKinley was assassinated and Roosevelt became President at the age of 42; he remains the youngest president. Roosevelt attempted to move the Republican Party, including trust busting and increased regulation of businesses. Roosevelt was elected in 1904 to a full term of his own, the first person to do so from the Vice-Presidency,winning the largest percentage of the popular vote since the uncontested election of 1820. Roosevelt coined the phrase "Square Deal" to describe his domestic agenda, emphasizing that the average citizen would get a fair share under his policies. As an outdoorsman and naturalist, he promoted the conservation movement. On the world stage, Roosevelt's policies were characterized by his slogan, "Speak softly and carry a big stick". Roosevelt was the force behind the completion of the Panama Canal; sent the Great White Fleet on a world tour to demonstrate American power; and negotiated an end to the Russo-Japanese War, for which he won the Nobel Peace Prize

Reflection

What I learned about online safety is that you always need to watch what you say or do online. Follow the Netiquette rules and be courteous to others while online. Remembering what it is to be safe online is not to past bad, inappropriate pictures online that can be later found by anyone who wants to locate, find you.

What I have also learned about ID Theft is that anyone could steal your identity if you don't pay attention to what information you put out in the world. Don't give out any personal information about yourself and to random websites online or things that are sent to you suspiciously in the mail. Like any names, ages, sex, birthday, social security, nor credit card numbers.

What i have learned about cyber bullying is that anything you say will be turned around sometimes and can make someone mad enough to hurt you emotionally and cause you to do things you never wanted to do. Someone can put you done and harass you and make you antisocial in many states of character. There are many people out there that have been hurt by cyber bullies, and there are lots of people pit there that are hurt emotionally that make them bully others online.

Radar Scanners positioned around cars are able to find targets around the car, truck, etc and move out of their path. In test drives Nissan’s cars passed the test to be fitted with this technology are able to swerve out of the way of a people around that walks, runs, etc into its way, missing the person and saving their life. Like something from a movie it seems as though the future is now with this technology.
